Removal of Jetties 4,5 & 6 at Lyttelton Harbour.

Our Civil & Marine Team has been working together with the Lyttelton Port Company team on this project to remove jetties 4, 5, and 6 in Lyttleton Harbour. Some of these wharves date back to the late 1800s - if they could speak we are sure they would have some interesting stories to tell.

These 3 wharves were left in an irreparable state after the Christchurch Earthquakes so now it is time for them to be removed strategically piece by piece.

Our Vulcan Construction Barge with our 7055 Crawler Crane on board has been busy removing these jetties with the support of our M12000 Crawler Crane on land unloading the timber as it is delivered with the shuttle pontoon and Joe Mann Tug. We can always rely on our Engineering shop to help us complete these jobs, big thanks to the SCC Engineering/Fabrication team for designing and building a vibro wooden pile clamp to support this project. Thanks to Matt Draper (Civil, Piling & Precast Manager), Alex Waller (Foreman), Rod Williams (Skipper), Grant “yogi” Harkess, Scotty Blacker, Hemi Tihema, and Seth Barham from the Silver Team getting the job done. A big thank you to Lyttleton Port Company for their support on this exciting work.
