We believe that “Safety is no accident”
Smith Crane & Construction is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all workers and contractors as well as clients, visitors, and the community in which we operate. We recognize that we operate in a high-risk industry with many high-risk environments involving heavy equipment.
Our main goal is to ensure the safety of our team so they can go home to their loved ones at the end of every day whilst completing a job they enjoy.
We take Health and Safety seriously and work hard to continuously improve our safety and learn from our own experiences and those around us. We keep up to date with industry recommendations and standards by being active members of the Crane Association of New Zealand, Heavy Haulage Association, Civil Contractors, Site Safe New Zealand, Engineering New Zealand, Precast New Zealand, and more.
We have an active Health and Safety committee, committed management team and pride ourselves in using QuipCheck and Mango to ensure all staff have an effective and efficient way of communicating any risks, recommendations or concerns regarding anything involving heath and safety at work.
Our Regular Tool Box Talk breakfasts are always a hit with the crew nationwide, ensuring all employees have a strong voice and are up to date with health and safety across the industry
