Smith Crane and Constructions building division was founded in 1998 when SCC purchased the business "Building removals LTD" the building relocation division has steady grown over the years through to its current position of late model, in house designed and purpose built plant. We have invested in specialist relocation equipment and are also proud to offer clients the back-up from our various divisions such as crane hire and civil engineering to meet all clients needs when relocating their buildings around the country.

We operate high-lift synchronised jacking plants offering standard foundation systems through to bracing piles, driven piles, and screw piles if required.
We also offer 3m high synchronised jacking plant, which we have pioneered and purpose built for the Christchurch earthquake recovery. This plan allows for the replacements of concrete floor slabs without removing the dwelling from its section.
We also offer innovative onsite building relocation equipment that we utilise for moving multi-storey buildings for foundation replacement or section configuration.
Much of our relocation plant is purpose-built to speed up and ease the relocation process and reduce costs for our clients. All of our plant is maintained to a high standard and operated under strict health and safety processes. We strive to ensure our relocation staff are correctly trained in their work, and their goal is to make the relocation process as easy as possible for our clients.
Our Building Relocation division also proudly offer specialist oversize relocation equipment to cater for the needs of oversized plant an machinery movements throughout New Zealand. We are regularly involved with freight forwarding and shipping companies relocating structures of similar size to houses, and work closely with our heavy haulage division.

Smith Crane and Construction have been directly involved with minor and major residential and commercial building repairs.
We have invested heavily in purpose-built building repairs and jacking systems including a pioneered high-lifting jacking plant which is designed to speed up the process and reduce costs of building foundation repair.
We have also been directly involved with some insurance companies to carry out feasibility studies to assess remedial methods and pricing for building repair.
