  • Join our high-flying Wind Division as a local Industrial Electrician on a fixed-term role from December 2025 until July 2026. We’re looking for someone with 2+ years’ experience as an Industrial Electrician. If you’re skilled in cable work, pulling, and terminations, and you’re ready to tackle heights and hard work, this is your opportunity to help power New Zealand’s renewable energy future!

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Diagnose, fix and install electrical and hydraulic systems using cutting-edge tools and equipment.

    • Handle cable work, pulling, and terminations including at heights

    • Work safely at heights around cranes and turbines, spotting and reducing hazards

    • Keep jobs running smoothly with accurate records, schedules, and daily diaries

    • Use tools and machines, (EWP, Telehandler, Forklift etc.) safely and efficiently

    • Communicate clearly on 2-way radios with your on-site crew

    • Work with mechanical & rigging/crane team to safely prepare and install Wind Turbine Components

    About You

    • Preference for qualified Electricians registered with the NZ Electrical Workers Board

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Electrician; experience with cranes or wind turbines preferred

    • GWO training preferred but note essential, we can support you in obtaining this

    • Vestas wind turbine experience an advantage, but not essential

    • Physically fit: able to climb 30m ladders, 80–125m towers, and lift 25kg

  • We’re looking for experienced Crane Operators to join our Wind Division for a fixed-term contract from February to August 2026.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • We’re looking for a motivated, Labourer/Trade Assistant to join our Special Project - Wind Division. This fixed-term role runs from early January 2026 through to September 2026, and you’ll be right at the heart of the action. Reporting to the Site Manager, you’ll help bring a wind farm to life with supporting construction, operations, and maintenance, mostly working outdoors around the turbines.

    This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. From assisting tradespeople and operating tools, to spotting for machinery, moving materials, and keeping the site running smoothly.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist trades and technicians with site-based work

    • Perform manual labour tasks including lifting, carrying, digging, assembling and water blasting

    • Operate tools and equipment safely (powered and non-powered)

    • Support traffic management and spotting for moving vehicles

    • Keep work areas clean, safe, and organised

    • Maintain strong, positive relationships with colleagues and clients

    • Packing and devanning containers

    • Represent SCC professionally on site at all times

    What we're looking for

    What You’ll Be Doing:

    • Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems across our civil and crane fleet

    • Working on piling rigs, hammers, excavators, cranes, loaders, and other large plant

    • Carrying out rebuilds, servicing, preventative maintenance, and breakdown support (both in the field and workshop)

    • Using schematics, diagnostics, and your technical know-how to keep equipment running safely and efficiently

    About the Role

    You will undertake all tasks required to ensure the safe and timely rigging and loading of materials. You’ll work closely with crane operators, site supervisors, and ground crew to plan and execute lifts efficiently, while upholding our commitment to health and safety.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Correctly select, inspect, and use rigging and lifting equipment in accordance with site procedures and manufacturer specifications

    • Accurately sling loads and provide clear, standardised hand or radio signals to crane operators

    • Identify and control load movement, ensuring balanced and secure lifting

    • Conduct pre-start checks on rigging gear, lifting appliances, and associated equipment

    • Report defects or hazards promptly and remove unsafe equipment from service

    • Assist with preparing and reviewing lift plans, ensuring lifts are carried out according to plan

    • Calculate load weights, centre of gravity, and suitable lifting points when required

    • Proactively participate in ongoing training and competency assessments

    • Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by following procedures, identifying and reporting risks, and participating in training and safety initiatives

    You will oversee crane operations, ensure compliance with safety standards, and coordinate project documentation and scheduling. You’ll work closely with clients, local authorities, and the project team to deliver outcomes on time and to budget, while upholding our commitment to health and safety.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications; provide estimations on project costs, resources, and timelines

    • Prepare lift plans, Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Variance (RFVs), and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)

    • Maintain detailed project documentation and assist with audit requirements

    • Schedule construction works and communicate changes to all stakeholders

    • Communicate effectively with staff regarding repairs, delays, and scheduling

    • Operate cranes when required

    • Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and industry standards

    What We’re Looking For

    • Current NZQA Crane Operator Qualifications or equivalent international qualification

    • Minimum 2 years’ industry experience preferred
