Super Lift at Fonterra Waitoa

Last week we completed a super-lift at the Fonterra Waitoa site with Windsor Energy.

This super lift consisted of lifting a 110-tonne boiler with our Liebherr LR1280 crawler crane and a secondary Grove GMK6400 all terrain crane to rotate the boiler mid-air. Once the boiler was in place the cranes were used to support the boiler while the team on the ground weld the feet into place.

The new boiler will reduce the site’s annual emissions by 48,000 tonnes of C02 (the equivalent of taking 20,000 cars off of New Zealands Roads) and is expected to be up and running in November.
